Europe´s lowest electricity prices!
Luleå offers Europe´s lowest electricity prices. The price of electricity in Luleå is 0.02 EUR lower than in the rest of Europe. Our energy companies have long experience in working with large electricity-intensive industrial plants.
Luleå is on the same latitude as Fairbanks in Alaska and can offer free cooling 8-10 months of the year.
We have experience in heating and cooling systems that maximise energy savings. Surplus heat generated by a data centre can be sold to the local energy company to be fed back into the district heating system.
Green systems thinking — economic growth with reduced environmental impact. Alternative energy sources are available in Luleå, and we are developing green IT solutions to reduce energy consumption.
The region has a strong ICT cluster that focuses our mobile and broadband technologies. The research centre works with sustainable use of resources and technology.
